The Terminology of Irish Dance
Orfhlaith Ní Bhriain
An indispensable reference work for world dance
This concise glossary of Irish dance terms is intended for the active Irish dancer and teacher as well as for the researcher. The Terminology of Irish Dance covers dances and technical vocabulary for social and theatrical forms, as well as for the complex world of Irish dance competitions. Terms in both English and Irish Gaelic are included.
“The Terminology of Irish Dance will be an invaluable and useful reference book for Irish dancers, teachers, and others who are interested in knowing Irish dance terminology in Gaelic as well as in English. It will undoubtedly lend itself to international usage by the Irish dance ommunity.”
